Funding

RTLB Cluster 16 manages two funding streams that can be accessed by schools:

Learning Support Funding:

Learning Support Funding (LSF) is funding that is provided to support the work of RTLB in schools. It can be used for a wide range of interventions that align to behaviour and/or learning plans that have been put in place in collaboration with RTLB, schools and whanau.  RTLB will be able to advise schools on the funding limits that the cluster sets for different types of RTLB interventions. These limits are to ensure that LSF is distributed equitably across referrals and also that this funding stream is able to be accessed across the whole year as needs may present.

Years 11 - 13 Funding:

The Ministry of Education provides a very finite source of Years 11 - 13 funding which our cluster distributes in its entirety across the eligible secondary schools and wharekura who make application for this resource.

In Term 4 of each year, eligible schools make funding applications for the resource for the following year. By the end of the year the schools are advised of how much of the funding has been allocated to them by the Years 11 - 13 funding panel, and the funding is paid into schools - 40% of the allocated amount early in Term 1, and the remaining 40% at the beginning of Term 3. Secondary schools are required to submit a brief statement at the end of the year stating that the funding was used for the purposes for which it was applied. On receipt of this statement, the cluster pays the remaining 20% of the allocation to schools.
